What is Super Useful?

Super Useful is a space where I collect and share the ideas, side hustles, and projects I've worked on over the years. Instead of building a separate brand or name for each idea, I put them all here. The tools and features I'm building come from real problems I've faced myself as an engineer and product manager.

It's a way to experiment, learn, and hopefully create something that others might find useful too.

Sufian

Hi, I'm Sufian. I've always been someone who likes to build things—whether it's writing code, coming up with startup ideas, or just experimenting with new tools. Super Useful exists because I constantly find myself solving problems in my day-to-day work, both as an engineer and a product manager.

Rather than letting those solutions stay in my head or sit on my computer, I started sharing them here. Every project or tool you see on Super Useful started as something I needed for myself. It's my way of keeping the creative process alive and staying hands-on with the problems I encounter, and in the process, I'm hoping they'll be useful to others too.

  A SaaS platform for future side project ideas, starting with an open source blog built on 11ty (hosted on Github) that plugs into an online CMS and can generate blog posts using AI.

  Figma Tracking Map

  A Figma widget for placing tracking specs in flows to maintain a single record of all analytic taggings. Built to re-familiarise with coding and solve a common problem. Currently has 1k+ users.

  Started as a project to learn big data technologies, evolved into a startup. Collected pageview and click data to show site owners their visitors' most common path to conversion.

  A vinyl decal sticker company started after leaving school. Handled all aspects from research to production. Pivoted from B2C to B2B, working with tech companies like Squarespace & MediaTemple.

  A URL shortener platform built in my teens. Gained 420k users over its lifetime and was sold on a code marketplace, making 922 sales.

Looking Ahead

Looking forward, my vision for Super Useful is to create tools that leverage the power of AI, machine learning, and automation to solve problems faced by startups, small businesses, and even larger organizations. AI will play a key role in many of the future projects I'm planning—whether it's using AI to automate workflows, build smarter tools, or train models to handle specific tasks more efficiently.

There are two main areas I want to focus on. First, as someone who constantly builds startups and side projects, I want to address the common pain points I face, like managing resources, streamlining development, or keeping track of product updates. The goal is to build tools that will make these challenges easier not just for me, but for other founders and small teams working to get their ideas off the ground.

Beyond startups, I also want to create tools for businesses with larger teams, especially in my role as a product manager. I see plenty of opportunities to build solutions that simplify daily tasks, improve team collaboration, or help track progress more effectively—essentially filling gaps where existing tools fall short.

Lastly, as I navigate the job search myself, I've realized there's plenty of room for innovation in that space as well. Whether it's tools to help organize your job hunt, prepare for interviews, or even streamline the application process, I believe there's potential to make that journey smoother for others who are in a similar position.

Ultimately, my aim is to keep building, experimenting, and tackling real problems with Super Useful, ensuring that every tool I create has a practical use case and helps others, just like it's helping me.
